The Duncanville City Council approved a resolution canceling the May 2, 2026, General Election after all candidates for Mayor and City Council Districts 2 and 4 were certified as unopposed.
Greg Contreras has been declared elected as Mayor, Don McBurnett has been declared elected as Councilmember for District 2, and Jarred D. Davis has been declared elected as Councilmember for District 4.
Under the Texas Election Code, municipalities may cancel an election when all candidates on the ballot are unopposed, and no propositions are scheduled to appear. The official Notice of Cancellation of Election will be posted by the City of Duncanville.
