On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the request of the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), a statewide test of emergency alerting systems will occur between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. As part of this drill, local jurisdictions across Texas may test systems used to notify the public during emergencies. Because jurisdictions across the region may participate in this test, you may receive more than one test alert on your phone and hear outdoor warning sirens during the testing window.
At 10am on April 2, the City of Duncanville will activate its Everbridge emergency notification system for those on our STEAR Registry and send a WEA Alert to cellphones with WEA Test Alerts enabled in their phone settings. The City’s Outdoor Warning Sirens will be tested on our normal test day, Wednesday, April 1, at 2 pm, weather permitting.
This will only be a test. No emergency action is required.
Testing helps ensure emergency alert systems work when they are needed most.
