Trustee Phil McNeely

Phil McNeely is a living legend on and off the basketball court. He has served as a member of the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees since 2010.

Before retiring, Coach McNeely became the longest-tenured Duncanville High School head basketball coach with 25 years. Under his leadership, the Duncanville High School boys basketball team won three state championship titles in 1991, 1999 and 2007.

To recognize Coach McNeely's long-standing legacy, Duncanville ISD is hosting a basketball showcase bearing his name - the Phil McNeely Classic. During the classic on Saturday, November 13., Coach McNeely will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at 7 p.m. by the Duncanville ISD Athletics Department.

Many former players have indicated they plan to attend the basketball showcase, including some who are now coaching boys high school basketball teams. Woodrow Wilson Head Coach Corey Johnson and Rock Hill Head Coach Shawn Williams are both former players of Coach McNeely and their teams will play Saturday.

The celebration of Coach McNeely will include family, friends, and longtime supporters excited to recognize his continued service and dedication to students, and commitment to the community. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented center court prior to the final game of the night - Duncanville High School vs. Lancaster High School.
