Preparations Begin for 2022 City Officers Elections

Election Day is May 7, 2022

The 2022 City Officers election will be held Saturday, May 7th. Duncanville voters will go to the polls to elect the Mayor, and Councilmembers to represent Districts 2 and 4 for the upcoming two-year term.

The first official day to file an application for a place on the ballot is Wednesday, January 19th. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18th. Candidate filing packets are now available in the City Secretary's office.

Due to COVID precautions please call ahead of time to schedule an appointment with the City Secretary's office to pick up a packet or to file for a place on the ballot. You can email [email protected] or [email protected], or call 972-780-5069.

City qualifications for candidacy include:

  • Qualified voter;
  • Resident of the State of Texas for one year;
  • Resident of the City and district for six months; and
  • Hold no other public office.

All registered voters in the City of Duncanville may vote for Mayor. Residents of Districts 2 and 4 may vote for their respective candidates. Anyone not currently registered to vote has until April 7, 2022 to register in order to cast a ballot in the May 7th election. Voter registration applications may be obtained at City Hall or the Duncanville Public Library.
