Duncanville, TX – The Mayor, Council, and Staff wish to extend their condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of former Duncanville City Manager Larry Shaw, who passed away earlier this week.

Mr. Shaw served the City of Duncanville for 26 years. He began his career as the Parks and Recreation Director, and he worked in nearly every department before eventually accepting the position of Assistant City Manager. He was appointed City Manager in 1996 and served in that role until 2001.

“I am saddened by the news of Mr. Shaw’s passing,” said Mayor Barry L. Gordon. “As our City Manager, he served our community well and left a legacy of positive change that impacts the lives of Duncanville residents to this day.”

Larry Shaw retired from the City of Duncanville in 2001 but continued to assist other Texas cities by utilizing the skills and knowledge he acquired during his tenure in the City of Champions.
