The City of Duncanville is proud to announce its annual 4th of July Celebration, returning Friday, July 4, 2025, with a full day of patriotic fun, community pride, and spectacular fireworks. This signature event will take place at Armstrong Park and is FREE to attend with wristband (registration required) for entry into the event area.

On May 3, Duncanville voters re-elected Joe Veracruz to serve as Councilmember for District 1, Jeremy Koontz to serve as Councilmember for District 3, Kyle Pennebaker to serve as Councilmember for District 5, and DeMonica Gooden to serve as Councilmember At-Large. The City Council will canvass election results, and the elected members will be sworn in on May 20, 2025, as part of the City Council's Regular Meeting. All results are unofficial until canvassed by the City Council.

This notice concerns the 2024 property tax rates for City of Duncanville. This notice provides information abouttwo tax rates used in adopting the current tax year's tax rate. The no-new-revenue tax rate would Impose the sameamount of taxes as last year if you compare properties taxed in both years. In most cases, the voter-approval taxrate is the highest tax rate a taxing unit can adopt without holding an election. In each case, these rates arecalculated by dividing the total amount of taxes by the current taxable value with adjustments as required by statelaw. The rates are given per $100 of property value.

The City of Duncanville officials have narrowed the search for a new fire chief to a lone finalist, Mr. Chris Connealy.

The City of Duncanville is pleased to announce that Matthew Stogner has been selected as the lone finalist for the position of Chief of Police. Mr. Stogner has been a member of the Duncanville Police Department since 1998, most recently serving as the City’s Interim Chief of Police since January 2024.

STAR Transit, a regional public transit agency, has announced the official rollout of public transportation in Duncanville. Effective July 17, residents can hail rides within Duncanville and connect to other regional transportation networks. This expansion is made possible through partnerships with the City of Duncanville, the Duncanville Community and Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC), and the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).
