Park History

A community playground project for Waterview Park began as a Design Day event on July 31st, 2012 at Brandenburg Intermediate School located at 1903 Blueridge Drive.

Duncanville ISD students, parents and residents were invited to share their design ideas.

The City of Duncanville was selected among other cities by KaBOOM! and Foresters to build a new place to play at Waterview Park.

Waterview Park was built by over 200 volunteers from the Foresters, the City of Duncanville, the Duncanville ISD Education Foundation and non-profit KaBOOM! in rain and sunshine taking them just over 6 hours to transform an empty lot to a beautiful new playground on September 29, 2012.


DATE ACQUIRED: 1975 – Mr. Gus S. Alexander donated land to be used as a park.

NAMING: Originally known as Quail Run Park. Park name changed to Rotary Park in 1986.

PLAYGROUND INSTALL DATE: 2007 (Playworld) and 1989 (Miracle)
