Should you have any questions or concerns regarding recycling that are not answered below, please contact Water/Wastewater Operations Assistant Manager David Dunn at (972) 780-5079. Recycling is provided to residential customers of Duncanville by Republic Services and can be reached at (972) 225-4207 or (972) 225-5252.

Recycling Collection Days

  • Monday - Zone 1A
  • Tuesday - Zone 2B
  • Thursday - Zone 1C
  • Friday - Zone 2D

No trash pickup on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • July 4th
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

(If your trash/recycle services fall on one of these holidays, your trash/recycle will be serviced on your next scheduled collection day.)

Recycling is picked up once per week by:

7:00 am

on your scheduled pickup day.
Place your recycling bins at the curb or alley.

Items accepted for recycling:

  • Aluminum cans
  • Tin or steel food and beverage cans
  • Plastics #1, #2 and #5
  • Paper Products - newspaper, magazines, catalogs, computer paper, cereal boxes, flattened cardboard, office paper, envelopes, junk mail, paper back books, brochures, pamphlets, and paper sacks
  • Boxes with no wax coating or food residue

New customers can pick up a recycling bin at the city when they request water service. Residents can also pick one up at the Service Center. If you would like to trade out your old bin for a new one, please bring it with you.

You can also request a recycling bin by contacting David Dunn or by calling Republic Services at (972) 225-4207. Please make mention if you would like a trade out of your old recycling bin for the new one.

Items that cannot be accepted for recycling:

  • Glass
  • Aerosol spray cans Recycling Truck
  • Pizza boxes
  • Plastic bags (grocery bags can usually be taken back to the grocery store)
  • Plastics #3, #4, #6 and #7
  • Plastics that contained household hazardous waste (oil, antifreeze, paint, etc.)
  • Styrofoam
  • Wax-coated containers

Recycling Carts

Residents can rent a 96-gallon rolling cart from Republic Services for an additional monthly fee by calling 972-225-4207.
